TerraFIRMA science is relevant to research groups, governments, international development organisations, universities and businesses in the UK and Europe.

The programme’s work will help shape mitigation and adaptation policies, protect the environment, and seek to improve people’s lives.

TerraFIRMA is part of the Natural Environment Research Council’s National Capability Multi-Centre Science programme – designed to bring science centres together for more ambitious, integrated, and large-scale research into critical environmental challenges. This science and the associated models and simulation data are part of TerraFIRMA’s National Capability support for the broader UK Earth system modelling and science community.
